After immigrating to Canada in 1969, the artist turned his attention to religious paintings and especially iconography. He perfected his technique of egg tempera after studies at OCAD (Ontario College of Art). To date, the artist has painted hundreds of icons for private collectors, and larger format icons for churches in Toronto and nearby cities. Although his exhibits in Europe and North America embody universal themes, his focus and dedication to Byzantine iconographic art is showcased in each exhibit.
